Peter started folk dancing in the mid 1970s.  He joined his first folk dance band in 1981 and started calling dances in the mid 1980s.

He particularly likes traditional English dances, but also uses dances from Scotland, Ireland and further afield, including Australia, America and Europe.

His philosophy is that people come to a dance to enjoy themselves.  “A sense of humour is probably more important than a sense of rhythm”, he believes!

Peter calls dances with a number of bands, but most regularly works with “Jiggery Polkary” with whom he also plays bass guitar.
